Autodesk graphic rearrange layers8/18/2023 Drag layers above or below one another within the Layer Editor. ![]() Modify an image quickly by reordering your layers. Dragging the background image below these layers corrects this. For example, a text layer is at the bottom of the editor, followed by the main image layer, and the background image. Rearrange layers to change the order of elements in your image. The other is the physical rearranging of layers. For information, see How to group layers. One is layer grouping, which is currently only available in SketchBook Pro Desktop. It’s dragging them to new positions within the Layer Editor to group them together to make it easier to find content. Physical organization is the rearranging of your layers. One is physical organization, which we’ll talk about here. Note that you can’t add to the number of Layers but, unlike Tags, you can rename Layers. Are you having a tough time finding different layers because you have so many layers? Well, SketchBook has two options for you. To customise User Layers, type a custom name into the text field for each one you wish to use. You can customise layers marked as User Layer. Layers marked as Builtin Layer are default layers used by Unity, which you cannot edit. Use Layers primarily to restrict operations such as raycasting or rendering, so that they are only applied to the relevant groups of objects. Use Layers throughout the Unity Editor as a way to create groups of objects that share particular characteristics (see documentation on Layers for further details). The Sorting Layers list, showing four custom sorting layers To change their order, drag the handle at the left-hand side of each Layer item. To add and remove Sorting Layers, use the plus and minus (+/-) buttons at the bottom-right of the list. Sorting refers to the overlay order of different Sprites. More info See in Glossary graphics in the 2D system. If you are used to working in 3D, Sprites are essentially just standard textures but there are special techniques for combining and managing sprite textures for efficiency and convenience during development. ![]() Sorting Layers are used in conjunction with Sprite A 2D graphic objects. To remove a Tag, click on it and then click the minus (-) button at the bottom-right of the list. Note that once you have named a Tag, you cannot rename it. To add a new Tag, click the plus button (+) at the bottom-right of the list, and name your new Tag. Tags are marker values that you can use to identify objects in your Project (see documentation on Tags for further details).
